Topic: Computer change

Very soon I'm going to be ditching my PowerBook for a nice shiny new Mac Pro and I'd like to find out how to transfer my current client database, invoices and services over to this new machine.

I know I can install a fresh copy of Billable on to the Mac Pro, but then what files and folders do I need to copy over to get them working from the new machine?

Thanks!

David

Re: Computer change

Congratulations!

# How do I backup Billable?

Billable stores files in three locations in your home directory:

* ~/Library/Application Support/Billable/*
* ~/Library/Caches/Billable/*
* ~/Library/Preferences/com.clickablebliss.Billable.plist

If you ever want to backup/restore Billable these are the files you are interested in.

Re: Computer change

Lovely. I noticed those listed in the documentation, but wasn't sure if this would work for a new install or not.

Aaaah, excellent! Just happened upon this post and added these locations to my nightly "important personal information" backup list. Thanks! smile

Re: Computer change

Just to let you know, if you run the migration assistant, it will transfer everything to do with applications for you. No new install required smile

Good to know.

Re: Computer change

Help!  I moved the above files to my new computer and Billable still shows up blank.  Any ideas?  Thanks!
