Topic: Any indication as to release of ProfitTrain?

I need to buy a system to manage my self-employed consultancy. Billable is great but I have been holding off purchasing as I want a complete solution and profittrain look like it would do the job.

I would be grateful for an indication as to any release schedule: Even the release of a beta. I monitor these forums and the website regularly but there seems to be no movement.

I realise that Mike does this part-time but any indication would help.

Failing this I will have to look around for another solution which would be a pity. I like Moneywell and moneyguru but I the idea of integrated invoice creation and monitoring that profitrain will offer is just the job.

Re: Any indication as to release of ProfitTrain?

ProfitTrain is clearly behind schedule. I may release an open beta soon. Sorry but I don't have a strict time table.

Re: Any indication as to release of ProfitTrain?

It is nice to know that you are still working on it and will hold off my purchase until I can test the open beta.

Thanks again for the hard work.

Re: Any indication as to release of ProfitTrain?

I am in the same boat as mephisto. I have been using Billable for my small biz but just recently I have added expenses and extras that ProfitTrain can handle.

Looking forward to getting my hands on PT as soon as the code is dry...

Thanks,
K

Re: Any indication as to release of ProfitTrain?

i too am eager for the release of profit train, i hope there will be a free trial of sorts to see if the upgrade is worth the price. keep up the good work big_smile

Re: Any indication as to release of ProfitTrain?

I am extremely interested in this beta testing phase. It will be awesome to get my books in the same program that I do my invoices too.

Re: Any indication as to release of ProfitTrain?

No timeline? I'd really like to be able to track expenses.

Re: Any indication as to release of ProfitTrain?

I'm kind of losing faith here. It's been over 6 months since whatever it was happened. Either the pieces are picked up or you need to let us know you're closing and to go find something else. Are you doing this or not? I'd really love to get the app, but not if this is how things are going to be from now on. I'm still using Billable on faith that nothing will go wrong because there really doesn't seem to be any support or interest in it any more.

What's the status?

Sorry if I seem an ass, but I am very blunt. It saves time.

Re: Any indication as to release of ProfitTrain?

Hi All,

just like to say, i have given up on Profittrain and Billable, enjoyed using the software loads but now, as things are looking shacky and no further developments, (twitter hardly any updates) or anything from the newletters. so i have gone with an opensource online billing system (http://www.simpleinvoices.org/) its Amazing. very good.. best of all you know that you are in control of it and not some random company.

anyways. all the best and thank you for the Billable software, it has helped me tremendously. now however, i think its is time to move on...

Re: Any indication as to release of ProfitTrain?

It looks like ProfitTrain is vaporware for sure and even the future of Billable is in question.  I would rather have a big message on the home page saying "we are closing down" than the silent treatment.

I understand that people get sick, bad things happen, have problems ect and they can no longer do their job or run a company but the best way to loose new and old business is to not communicate with your customers. I also emailed them and never heard back. My gut tells me something terrible happened to the owner of the company as he just basically disappeared from everywhere all at about the same time, his blog, Twitter etc...

Re: Any indication as to release of ProfitTrain?

I agree with the others. Running a business in today's  economic climate is tough enough and I have no more time to wait. Pity as Billable is a great product and ProfitTrain sounded like it would answer all my needs. Like other have said - Lack of information = Time to move on.

Re: Any indication as to release of ProfitTrain?

As posted on the blog today:

http://blog.clickablebliss.com/2010/01/13/im-not-dead/

It's been a long time since I've updated this blog and I think it's time to get some dirty laundry out in the open.

Over the past six months I have neglected Clickable Bliss. I have not been doing email, keeping up on the forums, tweeting, blogging or for that matter programming. Call it burnout, frustration, a mid-life crisis (I'm 30 now tongue), whatever -- I lost interest in programming. If I had the requirement of going to an office day in and day out I might have been able to ride it through, but alas I work at home and it is **scary easy** to do nothing and, for a little while, get away with it.

With the new year I want to start fresh and get back on track. This will start with opening up the beta of [ProfitTrain](http://clickablebliss.com/profittrain). When development stalled it was actually in a pretty good place. It still has a few big ticket items before I'd call it release quality but it is very functional. More info on this in the next 24 hours.

For this post however I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I know I've let some friends and customers down with my absence. I have gone through the last 30 days of email and am pretty sure got to all the legitimate support issues. If you still have a need/question feel free to shoot me a [new email](http://clickablebliss.com/contact) and I'll be sure to reply asap (at minimum 24 hours later).

I know I can't win back your trust overnight, but this is a first step for me.
